MCleak™

MCleak™ is a testing method developed by Leak Detection Technologies (LDT) for the leak testing of fluid filled interstices associated with double wall containments. The interstitial space in double walled tanks or containments is filled with a liquid monitoring solution. A level measurement is made using a special tool designed by LDT. The liquid measurements are recorded and entered into LDT’s algorithmic calculator that determines the test duration, wait period between measurements, and the leak rate.

MCleak™ was primarily developed for testing the integrity of newly installed double walled fiberglass tanks and requires a 72 hour wait period for fluid stabilization before the testing process can begin. The testing period is significantly reduced when measurements are obtained from inside the 4-inch interstitial riser pipe rather than inside the interstitial fluid reservoir. Tanks that are already in service must be taken out of service for at least 72 hours prior to beginning the test.

MCleak™ is primarily used in California and is expanding by throughout the US with growing acceptance across the fueling industry. Every day, new industry leaders are adopting the test process as their integrity and commissioning test for their new construction sites.

MCleak™ is listed by the National Work Group of Leak Detection Evaluations (NWGLDE) and was evaluated by Ken Wilcox Associates according to EPA protocols.
