MDleak® is a chemical marker leak detection technology developed by Leak Detection Technologies (LDT) for use in leak testing underground product storage tanks, above ground product storage tanks, and underground product transfer pipelines. The technology can be used for testing the integrity of tanks and pipelines containing products such as gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel, fuel oil #4, fuel oil #6, solvents, waste oil, liquefied petroleum gas, or natural gas. 

MDleak® inoculates the container with a marker from a selection of chemicals which are chosen based on factors such as tank geometry, tank volume, frequency and volume of tank refills, and chemical properties of the product. 

MDleak® is currently used nationwide to determine the tightness of product containments. Should a leak be detected, LDT is able to locate the area where the leak is located, thereby reducing the cost of excavation and repair. 

MDleak® is listed by the National Work Group of Leak Detection Evaluations (NWGLDE) and was evaluated by Ken Wilcox Associates according to EPA protocols.
